Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the Infobip  Shift Conference at the stunning Pérez Art Museum in Miami, it’s not everyday a tech conference is held in a museum. But this wasn’t just another tech conference, it was a forecast of what’s next in Dev innovation and AI. A full day of inspiration, education, and energizing conversations about the future of artificial intelligence, and what’s to come.

Attendees gathered from across industries and the globe, united by a shared curiosity: Where is AI really going, and how do we stay ahead of it? It’s all about staying at the forefront of innovation and that’s exactly what was happening amidst Miami’s panoramic views of the bay and a vibrant mix of attendees who came with knowledge and thirst for sparking innovative ideas.

Set against the backdrop of sweeping waterfront views in perfect Miami style, the day offered not just picture perfect scenery during lunch and coffee networking, but also the kind of insight and connection that creates excitement. Being a tech strategist, I always seek moments where I can stay ahead of the curve. AI Shift Miami delivered exactly that. An impactful panel included Carla Urrea presenting, "Securing AI: A Journey Through Access Control Systems" where she explored top 10 LLM risks that people should be aware of. Carla isn’t just a software engineer with years of experience, she’s also an experienced coffee enthusiast who enjoys a good café. I’m sure quite a few can relate. Another interesting panel included Investing in Dev Tools in the Age of AI: From Theory to Execution. Here guests were introduced to the workings of various applications by technology thought leaders.

The conversation was clear: the tools of tomorrow will be intuitive, and deeply integrated into our workflows. AI assisted development is becoming not just a tool, but a strategy to reduce friction and accelerate results.

Pair this with the discussion on prompt engineering, which is all about crafting the right instructions for AI models; and it becomes just as valuable as traditional coding. There you have it, if you can blend creativity with technical understanding, you’ll be leading the next wave of innovation.

Lessons from the Product Front Lines

Adrienne Tacke delivered an insightful robot journey presentation called, “Ctrl + Alt + Create Understanding Robots as a software Person.” Attendees were asked by Adrienne, what words came to mind when they think of a robot? With diverse replies from attendees, a new lens of exploration was opened. One that may potentially yield a smarter product strategy.

There was also a session on integrating AI from a product manager’s perspective, using Large Language Model’s in dev, workflows and product launch and release. It was all about aligning stakeholders, without teams getting stuck debating technicalities. Because no one has time for trivialities; and successfully embedding AI into product requires a definitive skill set and a vision of vast proportions.
